Voice Therapy

Voice disorders occur when the pitch, loudness or quality of one’s voice interferes and/or distracts from the spoken message.  These disorders can impede one’s ability to use his/her voice effectively for speaking or singing.  Symptoms associated with voice disorders include hoarseness, voice change, pain or discomfort.

Voice therapy helps to identify vocal behaviors that contribute to a voice disorder.  Voice therapy focuses on reducing or eliminating these behaviors through education, vocal exercises, optimal vocal hygiene practices, and use of effective strategies and techniques according to a treatment plan that is designed to meet an individual’s specific needs.
